AUSTSWIM - National: At the 2008 AUSTSWIM National Aquatic Education Conference (held in Adelaide SA), National Award for AUSTSWIM 'Teacher of People with a Disability. The wording in the Sept. 08, AUSTSWIM Magazine read: "AUSTSWIM Teacher of People with a Disability - Janet Boer-Draffin - WA. Drawing on her vast experience as a swimming teacher, Janet pioneered the People with Disabilities Course for AUSTSWIM in Western Australia. Janet wrote, promoted and has presented the AUSTSWIM PWD Course and along with her own short course workshops, she has essentially been a one-stop shop for swimming teacher training in the area of PWD"

* That you have real long term experience with children with all different levels of ability and have used    this understanding of how the children feel in the water.
*That you offer real workable solutions for problems that had seemed insurmountable; such as the  care of epeileptic kids in the water.

"All those who were at the meeting we had on Monday 27th said they found it to be the best, most informative workshop they had attended. This opinion was also that of the school aides that attended. [Using] the techniques that you taught my own 11 year old, enabled her to be one of only three children in her swimming group to pass her stage 3 certificate last week.... Well done Janet and keep up the great work, We look forward to your return."
